Event based process chain issue

Hi ,

we have created a process chain in BW which has a starting variant based on a EVENT.We have the same process chain
HANA which is using the same event, but it has taken longtime to finish the run.so we have unschedule the process chain
and keep it aside.

how to find the root cause of the issue and fix it.
