Where does this functional area come from?

Hi,

We have an SCM system which created purchase requestitions in the ERP system. The purchase requisitions then are assigned to a cost center with functional area COS. The GL account has no functional area assigned. Substitution is not in place. Still there is the functional area OPX in the purchase requisition, subsequently PO and in the accounting document of the GR. How come? I can see the purchase req. was created by a RFC user ( I can't find any IDoc in the system).

Is the functional area provided by the SAP SCM system and not derived in the usual way (which would be COS then).

Thanks

Exberliner

Hi,

Pls. check the GL account is Cost element or not. If yes, then Functional area may be derived from its master data or Cost Center assigned to it.

Click on Cost Element tab in FS03 of that Gl account and Company code.

Hi,

No functional area is in master data of the account. The account has a cost element but no cost Center or internal order assigned...

Thanks

Hi,

Pls. check in tcode OKB9 for the company code and GL account. Check whether any Cost Center has been assigned or not.
