Difference between IE01 and IE08

Hi All,

Could any one please guide me what is the difference between IE01 and IE08 Create equipment

and which situation these transactions will be used.

Raju,

IE08 was created for the Customer Service module (SM/CS).

The only difference is that there is a customisation setting to allow different default equipment category settings when using the IE01/8 transactions:

You can change these settings in the IMG via:

• Transaction: OIAT
• IMG Element: Define Transaction-Based Default Values for Object Types

Hi Padmaraju,

As stated already

IE01 is used for PM area

IE08 is used for CS area

There is no difference between IE01 & IE08.

IE01 comes under Plant Maintenance in SAP Easy Access. IE08 comes under Customer Service.

You can assign different default Equipment category to each transaction. Apart from that, I don't find any difference between these two.
