Problem with caching - EP 6.0 with BSP iView

Hi,

I have build a BSP iView ( For a plan of BW-BPS ).When I execute this link ona fresh IE Browser I am able to successfully log in.But from the iview while running from the portal, when I log in to the BW system, it just throws me out and comes back to the same login screen. If I give a incorrect login if gives me the message.( No SSO had been configured now ).

I do face the same problem if I use the web link directly in old IE browser session, but not if I use a fresh session.

I assume this must be something to do with Caching.Any hints will be appreciated.

Muinul

lets isolate the problem.

if you run the BSP application directly in the browser (new window) are you prompted for WAS authentication?

when you enter user id / pwd does it logs you in. if you are facing problem here are you getting any error message

Hi ,

Thanks for the inputs. I do not have SSO as of now. I am facing this problem without SSO.

If I run the BSP application directly, I do get the logon screen.Say if I click it from a old link I get the same problem ( Say a link on teh mail where I click and a browser session opens ).However if I start a fresh IE session and cut paste the BSp libk , it asks me for teh login and then after supplying teh credentials it logs me in and starts the BSP app.

But from teh Portal no matter what I do ( Either do a preview of the iView ) or run it from the workset, first it will show the login screen and once I give the credentials it just throws me out and returns to the same login screen.Note that if I supply incorrect credentials it does give me a message saying incorrect password etc )

So i am thinking , it must be something to do with some data stored by the portal.

I know if SSO is implemented correctly and I do not get the login screen at all, then thsi problem would be solved. But I want to know why this is happening.

Hi Durairaj,

Another test I did on this is I created a URL iview with the same BSP link.If I do a preview from the portal ( which pops up a new window ) I still face the same problem.

But !! If I copy the link from the popped up browser session from the URL iView preview and paste it on a newly fired browser session it works !!.

this could be because in the system definition WAS host dosent hold the FQDN (fully qualified domain name)

it should be <waserver>.domain.com:port

also make sure that you logged on to portal using FQDN

Hi Durairaj,

I am using the FQDN to access the portal. The BW system

from which I am trying to access the BPS view ( Trough a BSP iView ) is having a internal ITS.

However I am successfully able to log in when I create a BW iView its only with the BPS reports for which I have to create a BSP iview is creating a problem during login.

The first part of your tip says about system definition having the WAS FQDN, where is this ?

Hello Muinul,

I think you should look at this Weblog: <a href="https://weblogs.sdn.sap.com/pub/wlg/2370">Connecting SAP systems to Enterprise portal with SSO</a>. Here you find the steps to establish a Single Sign On connection from your portal to the BW Server.
