Alternative needed to domain user sapadm

Hi

We are installing a new windows server 2012 R2 system on a MS SQL
server 2012 database.

We are stuck on the install. As we are doing a domain install we need
to eneter the password for the account GLOBAL\sapadm.

However there is an existing SAP system on the domain and due to
security rules we are not allowed to have the password for the existing
GLOBAL/sapadm account.

Is there any way we could use a different account than sapadm for the
SAPHOSTAGENT stuff?

This account has to be a domain account and not a local account.

Thanks

Hi Matthew,

Usually the sapadm account for SAPHOSTAGENT is configured as a local user and not a domain user, so that would avoid your domain security restrictions.  The <sid>adm account and SAPService<SID> accounts usually do need to be domain accounts, but not sapadm.

The installer by default, when you get to the part for SAPHOSTAGENT, should suggest sapadm as a local user.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Matt
