SAF for webclient

Gents,

We're trying to install the ICserver (having gone through some serious issues while doing so).

Is it absolutely necessary to install the SAF (software agent framework) to get the icserver running??

As I understand, it's only used for knowledge searching (a functionality which we don't need).

Did anybody already install the ICserver without the SAF?

Thx in advance,

Michael.

Hi Michael

Yes,You are right. As far as my knowledge as well it is not actually required for ICserver. If you do not want to use the Java configuration of the SAF, no separate installation of the SAF is necessary.

The search engine that you link to a knowledge base determines whether you use the Java configuration of the SAF. You link a search engine to a knowledge base in Customizing for the Software Agent Framework ® Name and Configure Knowledge Base.

cheers
