Hi Asim,

I am on way of performing the system copy for solman 7.1 from prod to dev system.

How are you performing the system copy ?

Please specify the tool used and respective version and patch level.

Hi Deepak,

I'm using SAPinst (IM_71_SR1) for Solman 7.1.

In addition what i have done is update the kernel files and given the permissions at SApinst_dir as well as on dumps. But still no go

Thanks

Asim

Hi Asim,

SAPinst is no more supported. You may need to use SWPM to perform the copy.

For this system copy suggestion would be to use SWPM 1.0 SP04

Hope this helps.

Deepak,

So you mean to say that I need to start from the scratch.

SWPM- Doesn't give the option for Solman 7.1

Hi Asim,

The software provisioning manager is available in two options.

  1. SWPM*.SAR: For SAP Netweaver 7.30 or greater based SAP systems.
  2. 70SWPM*.SAR: For SAP Netweaver 7.0 SR3 or greater based SAP systems including all Enhancement Packages, such as SAP Solution Manager 7.1 which is based  on SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP 2.

You may need to download 70SWPM*.SAR to get relevant selection.

Hope this helps.

Deepak ,

Two things need to inform :

1.I was getting error at Abap phase load error .So i have merge the tsk & bak files by r3laod and manually set ign in tsk files .Should i change the ign status back to error. Is this could be the problem causing in adjusting table name phase.

2.We have used abap export using Sap inst only .Will that not effect if using import by SWPM

Thanks

Asim

Status "ign" will ignore the object from being imported into the database. This may lead to inconsistency and loss of data.

Actually SWPM also contains sapinst tool. But As I never never used this approach , I would suggest you to give a try and check.

Else you may need to perform fresh export and then import using SWPM.

Hope this helps.

Dear Deepak,

As suggested by you ,I have used SWPM for the system copy and used the same export dump ,it worked for me.No need of taking the fresh export.

Thanks and love you for your technical advice.

Thanks

Asim
