Default search help in Material Master not working

Hi,

We had come across a different situation where the F4 help for Mateial Number differ for each user. For example, when i select F4, a custom search help has been defaulted always by which i can search the materials. But when user select F4 for that MATNR, custom search help is getting displayed but it is not showing any values for that seach criteria and we are getting the below message.

I have debugged both the user accounts and came to know system is taking default search help values from table DDSHDEFSH. For User A & B different values can be seen in the below table.

Anyone could tell me how this table DDSHDEFSH gets updated with username and search help??? Please find below screen shot for reference,.

Thanks

Partha

Table DDSHDEFSH just saves the last search help you used of a collective search help i.e. that search tab that was last selected from the different search tabs. To see this go in to se16 select mara and use the search help on matnr - select and execute different search tabs and watch as the default next to you user in DDSHDEFSH changes.

With respect to this specific problem it seem that this user had last used some z-custom search help that has been deleted (or made inconsistent in some way) in the mean time. In this case I would personally just update DDSHDEFSH in se16n as a one off activity.
