Cost Centers to allow statistics posting and not to allow any GL posting

Hi Experts,

How to control cost centers (e.g. 1001XX to 1001X4) to allow posting for statistics only?  Not to allow any postings to GL accounts using these cost centers.

Dear Sanjay

In cost center master data under control tab tick in the box meant for actual posting and other relevant boxes, you can achieve your goal. But may I ask you why do you want so.

FI expense posting will ask you for a cost object if GL is created as a cost element. If you select any other cost object and a CC together then the posting to CC will go as statistical only.

Do we have option to lock actual real postings and allow actual statistical postingsin CC?? I don't think so, but we can check once

The only option here as I see is to write a validation in OKC7 if the option you said is not available.

Actually he meant something else. Both the goals at the same time.

We don't have Cost center as Default Acct Assignment for Cost element. So, as per Rajneesh advice, can't we restrict GL posting to cost center and allow revenue which is statistical value  if I activate following settings in Cost center?  Please correct me if I making any mistake.

If your intention is not to make any expense postings to the CC, then you need to lock the postings as you showed in the screen shot

That will suffice

Hi Sanjay,

If not Cost center, at least you have to divert the real postings to other cost objects in CO area. In that case, can maintain CC as statistical.
