SSL did not work with SAP J2EE Engine

Hi all

I tried to setup SSL with SAP J2EE Engine 6.20 as a separated J2EE server (no WAS), and followed a document "Enabling SSL for the SAPJ2EE Engine" by Kamran Hedjrat. The setup procedure went through.

But when I tried to test the SSL connection, the browser gave me "The page cannot be displayed".

Anyeon saw this before?

Any suggestion to resolve the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Xueqing

    Han,

Just check if you have followed all below steps correctly.

    1. Download and deploy sap cryptographic module.

    2. If you use J2SE 1.4 or higher, then you also have to install and use the unlimited strength jurisdiction policy files from your J2SE vendor to be able to use the strong cryptography functions used by the Secure Storage and SSL Provider services.

    3. Change the startup mode for the SSL Provider so that it automatically starts when the server is started.

    4. Restart the J2EE dispatcher and server. Also restart any tools such as the Visual Administrator or the Config Tool that are running.

Moreover default port for https is 50<instance-no>1 i.e. default http port+1. So make sure that you are accessing on right port.

Let me know for any clarifications.

      Hi Chandrashekhar

Thanks a lot for your reply.

      Actually I already did step 1, 3, 4.

Could you elaborate about step 2? From the doc I mentioned in my initial post, I did not see anything related to this.

About the port, since I was using SAP J2EE Engine without SAP Web AS, I thought I could use any available one, isn't it?

      Thanks again for your help

      Regards

      Xueqing

You can get the required files from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html. Go to 'Other downloads' section (last section) in the page and download the zip. Unzip the downloaded file and copy the jars under \jre\lib\security. Restart the server after this step.
