SAP APO system access for certification study

Former Member

Dear seniors,

I started learning for the APO Certification. I found the standard SAP APO books required for this on the certification page, SCM200, SCM210, etc.

https://training.sap.com/shop/certification/c_tscm44_65-sap-certified-application-associate---planni...

The problem that I am occuring is that I cannot do the exercises from the book cause the system that I work in is not configured like in the book. I don't have the configuration, master and transactional data. I started to create that data but I am loosing alot of time in doing that. I just consider that at this stage I have to focus on understanding the processes and then dig further into configuration, instead the other way arround.

Has anybody have a clue how can I get access to a system where I can find all this data created, ready for the certification test study ?

Thank you,

Thank you guys for your input. I have functional knowledge in ERP and I am certified in MM and PP. I was lucky because in the company that I am currently work we have the system configured with the master data from the courses. It is not the case for the SCM system and it takes too much to create data, solve all the issues that appear. I was hoping that there is some vendor who can rent a IDES system for this purpose.

Alex,

SAP provides such systems.

In addition, if you Google the internet, you will find third party vendors who host SAP IDES systems, and will offer access for a fee.  These vendors come and go, let us know if you find one you like..

I guess that buying access from SAP to the ERP and SCM systems will help me to complete the exercises from the books. The price is kind of high and I guess only a company will pay 3500 EUR for 3 months access.

I will try with other thirt party vendors hoping that the system is configured for the certification exercises. If not, I will loose about 50 USD for a month which is not so bad.

For somebody who wants access only to ERP system, here is the free ides system

Thank you guys for help.

Alex,

Those books that you 'found' are classroom textbooks; and they are generally only made available to students who are taking the underlying class.

For these classes, SAP loads data into their training systems that support the classroom curricula, prior to the start of each class.

So, the easy answer is "take the SAP class".  If you take the class, SAP will provide you with a new copy of the course material, and once you are in the classroom, you are generally provided with access to their training system, which is consistent with the course material.

Alex,

i agree with DB49 that attending the classes will help. But also remember 90% of questions in the Certification test do come the SAP course material and online help documentation. If your functional knowledge is good you should be able to understand both these documents which are of immense help.

THanks,
