Error during Role upload

Hello Forum,

I try using the 'SAP Role Upload' function in EP 60_640, SP14 for uploading roles from SAP_BW to the portal. After selecting the backend system and object type = Roles and ID = * the following error appears: 'Connection to SAP component system failed. Check the system settings'

The backend system object is maintained with correct server names, including WAS and ITS configurations. It is possible to start a BSP application (WAS) and a SAPGUI for HTML transaction (ITS) from within the portal without problems, including SSO.

Please advice how to resolve this issue. Any help is greatly appriciated!

Kind regards,

Walter

    Hi,

Please have a look at the documentation in this .pdf-file : https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/579fea90-0201-0010-de97-ecb2ddadc311

check the technical prerequisites on page 2.

      Hi,

I found out that the parameter Server Port (Server port = <instance number>) is defined incorrectly; for BSP and ITS application this does not seem to matter, but for the Role Upload this parameter must match the ms portnumber (=36+<instancenumber>).

      Kind regards,

      Walter

    Hi,

If the connection test is also working, I'm affraid I have no further idea what can be the problem. Maybe you can just try to create an SAP Transaction Iview and see if the SSO to the BW system for this transaction is working...

We have configured BW on SP12 and do role-import without a problem...

    Regards,

    Igor

      Hi Igor,

I already did just that: I can access both BSP and ITS (SAP Transaction iView by means of SAPGUI for HTML) without problems; so the SSO to BW functions. However, the "Role Upload" still does not work..

Thanks anyway for all your help!

      Kind regards,

      Walter
