Connecting SAP IDES 4.7 on Windows 7

I was using Vmware Player & SAP GUI 640 to connect to SAP IDES 4.7 on windows XP with below procedure

  • First I installed the VMware player
  • installation of sap log on pad
  • configuration of new connection in SAP log on pad

          Application server - 192.168.1.222

          System id - 00 System Number - 00

  • Add Microsoft Loopback adapter with tcp/ip setting ip address 192.168.1.129 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0
  • TCP/IP setting for VMNET1 adapter ip address 192.168.19.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0
  • TCP/IP setting for VMNET8 adapter ip address 192.168.147.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Now I want to use IDES 4.7 on Windows 7 (64 Bit). I have installed SAP Logon 730 Pad but not able to create new connection.

What will be the steps to connect it on Windows 7? How to determine the value for Application server, instance number, system id, SAProuter string?

I have already completed Microsoft loopback adapter, VMNET1 & VMNET8 configuration with above ips.

    Hi Vishal

    1.  Just type the command in the Run - SAPGUI (Hostname) (Instance number)

    2. Refer the SCN link

      Hi Sriram,

      Thanks for reply.

can you pls explain in simple steps what need to be done. As I mentioned in my question that on windows XP after configuring Loopback adapter and vmware adapter, configured the new connection but there I left the SAProuter string blank. Now on GUI730 next button remain disabled until I provide the correct SAProuter string.

How to get the SAProuter string.

    Hi Vishal,

Now I want to use IDES 4.7 on Windows 7 (64 Bit). I have installed SAP Logon 730 Pad but not able to create new connection.

Process of adding the entry in SAPlogon 730 is same like what you mentioned in your query.

I see that SAPgui is installed on VMplayer but where is the SAP IDES 4.7 running.

Is it also on VM ?

If yes, can you try to start the VM on which SAP IDES is running and check the SAPgui connection.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Deepak Kori
