Download files from gateway

Dear All & Experts,

  I am having a scenario to download files & documents. These files are present in database table in XSTRING format.

  Is it possible to store these documents in gateway cache? Why because this will save time when it is downloaded from browser for performance   access.

I also welcome other useful suggestions.
