Help Needed for SP5, SP6, SP7 install...

Former Member

I will take advice from everyone, but I have seen that Ludek appears to be most helpful so I will direct my comments to him.

Ludek,

Something is a bit screwy in my installation. I am on SP3 12.3.0.601 and trying to upgrade to SP4 (getting an error about a patch with a higher version detected)...I just uninstalled and reinstalled to correct other funky errors....yuck, this is getting messy.

Assuming I get that all cleared up, do I have to download SP5 and SP6 sequentially before I can install SP7?

Also, can you post a valid link for SP5 and SP6? I have SP4 and SP7 but can't upgrade due to VERSION TOO LOW errors...

Hi Cameron

I will message you directly tomorrow. Sorry - on the way out and train only goes every 35 minutes.

Okay, thanks!

Just to give you an update: I was able to set SP4 installed by renaming the patch-versions.xml file. When I attempted to install and sp5 fixes, however,  I got the version error. I would love to skip SP5 and install cumulative SP7 or SP6, but I can't get past the error unless I hardcode the .XML (which may cause later issues?):

I would suggest not to play around with the xml files!

SP7 is available as a Full Build software and I recommend directly installing this instead of the incremental upgrades.

P.S: Since this is a Full Build, you would of course need to unistall the existing version.

Thanks Abhilash.

So far, I haven't been able to locate a full build for SP7; I have only the update which requires a previous installation.

I was impatient and changed the version in the patch-versions.xml file from 12.4.0.966 to 12.5.0.0 (which was the minimum boundary according to the log file) and the upgrade installed without visible issue. I assumed that SP7 would be roll-up and include whatever I may have been missing from SP5 and SP6...I hope I am right. So far, so good.

I am, however, still looking for the full build for SP5, SP6, and SP7.

Ludek seems to be working on it.

The full builds and updates are all available at the Service Market Place. You can download them if you have an S-User ID.
