sap bw: connecting two bw system one source system

Hi All,

Here, in our project, we have copied our BW production system to the education box (say BWE1). Now we want to connect BWE1 to ECC quality system(say EQ1) which is already connected to BW quality system(say BWQ1). Here, while doing connection check at the RSA1 level, we are getting below error:

Source system <ECC Quality> is inactive
Incorrect ADDON version for SBWBCRL in RSBASIDOC :
The following errors occurred in the source system:
Incorrect IDoc type <Z******> in the ALE definition of the source system.

When we are trying to restore the source system in BWE1, it is asking to delete the connection between existing EQ1 and BWQ1, which we can`t do.

Please help me here to understand the scenario.

Hi Shailesh,

Connection multiple BW instanced with single source is possible if you have separate logical systems and separate datasets to be loaded.

Ex: If you want to pull company code A data into one BW and company code B data into another BW then it is possible. But if you want to use single datasource and same data to different BW systems, I don't think it is possible.

Let's wait for inputs from others.
