Hi Folks ,
I need a small help ,
here i need to migrate SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 7 from SUSE Linux to AIX and SID is also going to change from ABC to XYZ
so what is the proposed plan for it
2. after export and import we have to go for SID change ...
You can also use heterogenous copy, just install a blank SAP with your new SID and change the database SID with database tools.

Hello
You need to do a Heterogeneous system copy.
Export the source system
Transfer the export dump to the target system
Start the import using SWPM and provide the new SID and the system number

Hi Reagan ,
In homogeneous system copy its possible , its possible to change SID when you are importing but is it possible for heterogeneous copy to change the SID
here the file system is built with target SID (eg : usr/sap/XYZ , sapmnt/XYZ , oracle/XYZ)
or we have to create the symlinks like oracle/ABC-->oracele/XYZ and then we have to delete the symlinks and change the SID
In homogeneous system copy its possible
I am aware of it. My reply is specific to your question.
You are changing the OS from Linux to AIX and that is why I said Heterogeneous SC.
If you are using the sapinst/SWPM to perform a system (using the export/import method) then it is possible to change the system number and the SID of the system.
