PM - Reference functional location functionalities

Hello Experts,

i have a few challenges that i would need help with:

1. in transaction IL21 (change ref func loc) i can only change general master data (planning plant, planner group etc) but how can i change the actual reference functional location "numbering". i can only delimit the relationship in the hierarchy. issue here is that for example:

ref func loc: 0001 (engine)

0001-001 ( engine 2) 0001-002 (engine 2)

now if i want to add a new layer in between these 2 hierarchies so it would look like 0001, 0001-001 gas engine, 0001-001-001 engine 1, 0001-001-002 engine 2

2. Also how can i delete a reference functional location completely (from the hierarchy). i can mark it "flag for deletion" but how to actually delete it completly.

3. also how does the changes in ref func loc change the actual func locs? i mean if i change/add/delete does this also happen in the "actual" func loc which is a copy of this ref func loc? idea here is that only changing the master (ref func loc) it will make the changes in all func locs that have been created by using this ref func loc.

background info: We have made a reference func. loc hierarchy and used that to create functional location hierarchies. now we need to make some changes to the functional location hierarchy, and thought that by changing the reference functional location we could accomplish that. or if that is not possible still have a "up to date" ref func loc to be used in fututre instead of creating a completely new ref. func loc. and if these changes above are not possible why would you use ref func locs at all? as you can just copy the actual func loc? (maybe for reporting purposes if you run reports using

ref func loc as a crieteria to see how the func locs attributes)

many thanks

BR
