Hi Experts,

I have created matrix structure where 1 person is reporting to 3 different Org Units. But i have maintained reporting percentage of employee to different Org units. For example,Person X reporting % to HR Org unit is 50% and to IT Org unit its 30%.Now i want this percentage also to be displayed in matrix view which is not happening.I got an option in standard,ie view-----> Percent on.But percent on is grayed out. Pls help as of how to view the reporting %.

I have assigned weighting percentages in pp01.

Regards

Hi,

It sounds like what you have created is not a "Matrix Structure" but just divided the reporting relationship times for an employee.  Actual Matrix structures are created in PPME after defining them in table T779M and usually define different relationships - such as dotted line reporting or project assignments.

Also not sure what you are gaining by saying the person reports 50% to HR and 30% to IT.  Question is - who approves the employee's pay increases?  Who approves the employee's time off?  Does the IT Manager really only approve 30% of the pay increase?  What you probably mean is that the person's time should be charged 50% to HR and 30% to IT.  This can be done via IT0027 to divide the person's time over various cost centers.  Or you can use IT1001 to assign the cost centers and percentages to the position.

You said you used PP01-General maintenance.  Thus, the question - which relationships did you apply the percentages to and which transactions and views are you looking at?

Thanks for the reply.

I will make it more clear. Example take a Trainee employee. Trainee reports to HR manager daily. His approvals are made by HR department only. But his training is in production department. So he even reports to Production dept. head. So he is reporting to 2 departments, although not full. I tried to assign how much percentage of reporting is done by Trainee to HR dept. & IT dept., like since he is reporting HR for approvals only his reporting % is less(ex:20%).But rest is handled by Production dept. so its reporting % is more(ex:80%).Here I wanted to see how much percentage an employee is reporting to current department or any other dept. Costs don’t come into the picture for this case. And I think staffing percentage is not suitable for this, since it is with different position where as here its only 1 position with multiple reporting.

As you said I have already created structure in PPME. Pls find the screen shot below.

In pp01,I maintained relation between person & organization unit.

Hi Naresh,

The scenario i was looking is dual reporting.Employee reports to 2  senior ppl, reporting 20% to one senior manager and 80% to other senior manager. Can this be achieved.
