Ruled based ATP and Checking horizon

Former Member

Hi Experts

I have one issues

when I activate the RULE based ATP in the checking instruction and it works well, but the system can not use the checking horizon function, this will cause if there is no enough stock in the triggering plant and substitution plant, the system can not confirm all requirement.

I want the system works like this
1. first check  stock in the triggering plant and substitution plant , if the substitution plant has a stock the system will generate a STO order

2. if there is not enough stock in triggering plant and substitution plant, the system will confirm the remaining requirement in the triggering plant using check horizon.

how to do  that?

does anyone have encounter this issue?

by the way, I have tried if I activate the RBA in the checking instruction and checking horizon in the check control, the RBA will not work, the system will only confirm the trigger plant stock , even if the substitution plant have enough stock , the system will ignore them.

if I only activate the RBA, the check horizon can not not be used.

I want to use both.

thank you in advance!

Hi Yamin,

Were you able to resolve your issue? I am now facing the exact same problem. Please let me know if you found the solution for this!

Thanks!

I use the calculation profile to solve this issue now.

Hi Yamin,

Could you please give me the details of your calculation profile?

Hi experts

I have uplaoded the example file, can someone check  it and give some suggestion?

thanks!

Hi Yamin,

I am facing the same issue, can you please send a screen shot of the calculation profile, or may be the steps in details so i can try.

the steps as follow

1. in the checking instruction, you select use calcu. profile indicator

2.in the checking control, you activate checking horizon

3. when you maintain calculation profile in the rule maintenance, you should pay attention to the following points

1.       One rule can only has one calculation profile

2.       In the calculation profile, you must select re. OLTP time and valid indictor and the delay days must be greater than the transportation lane duration, but it must be less than the nest calculation profile of the condition deermiantion rule and less than material master data check horizon. If the delay day is greater than the transportation lane duration, the system will confirm all quantity, if it is less than , the system can not confirm the required quanity.

if you have any question, please let me know, I will copy screen to you that I have done.

Hi Yamin

Thanks for the reply, i have few questions and i hope you will not mind answering.

1. what if i do not want to use activity, since i am not willing to create stock transfer orders. In my rule for location determination i have three plants, the initial plant in the sales order and then two substitutions in the rule. I have a delay profile of 15 days, and the check horizon is 30 days in the Material master, i also have an incoming receipt which is also been considered for example

1 plant A = 100 stocks, Plant B = 80 Stocks, Plant C= 25 stocks,

2. I have a purchase order at plant A for 100 stocks,

My sales order is created for 325 stocks, it means i have confirmation for 305 stocks from all the plants including the purchase order, but i am having the remaining 20 created as unchecked requirement at the initial plant which should also be confirmed considering the checking horizon, i have the same screen as you have in your previous reply with the difference that i am not using the stock transport or lets say the activity. Can you please elaborate and send some screen shots of your solution. once again thanks for your reply and kind regards.

Hi YaMin Liu,

when I activate the RULE based ATP in the checking instruction and it works well, but the system can not use the checking horizon function, this will cause if there is no enough stock in the triggering plant and substitution plant, the system can not confirm all requirement.

Here you can use Replenish Lead Time from Material master. If it maintained system considers TRLT and give you lead time.

I want the system works like this
1. first check  stock in the triggering plant and substitution plant , if the substitution plant has a stock the system will generate a STO order

You can achieve this by using customized tables and programs.
When you get commit from a substitute location that information should be stored in a Z table and the requirement should be available in ATP tree structures.
Then you can check the requirement and run a program to create a PO/STO.

In short I am suggesting MultiEchelon concept.

2. if there is not enough stock in triggering plant and substitution plant, the system will confirm the remaining requirement in the triggering plant using check horizon.

how to do  that?

You can use TRLT concept..in ECC.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Bala.

Bala

thank you for your answer

could you explain how to use TRLT concept in ECC? as I know if I activated the GATP , the system can not use the ECC ATP FUNCTION?

by the way , I have checked some discussing , someone suggests to use calculation profile in the RBA, but I have tried, the system only display unconfirmed requirement as remaining requirement (unchecked) , the confirmed field still is zero.

how to do  that?

thanks!

Hello Yamin,

Did you try testing this by using the Calculation Profile in the RBA rule by maintaining the delay that is equal to the Checking Horizon time stamp ? Perhaps that should help ?

Thank you for your help!

actually I have tried . the RBA is not used   when I activate the check horizon in the check control.

if I do not activate the check horizon, the RBA works and even if I I maintain calculation profile, the system still can not confirm the remaining requirement.
