Hi All,
is is it a good practice to create Multi Provider on Infoset and info objects only?
regards
raj
HI Ganesh/ Phani,
i totally agree to your points. But let me give some background to my scenario,
we are looking for some reports, which can be delivered as part of standard content ( queries). The queries are based on info sets. But as a best practice we do queries only on Multi provider?
i Got other option: using the the queries in APD and pushing into standard DSO and to cube further, but it's bit long data flow.
there are standard DSO , standard info sets and standard bex queries , which are sufficient to to create reports? But we need Multi provider? We are on BI 7.0
any better solution?
regards
raj

Hi,
As started by ganesh add some more points my end
Info set will support the join conditions it will develop the some complex scenarios.
In BW 7.4 have Composite provider new concept. it will support the union and join operation.
otherwise run the report only on info set.
i never used this concept ( info set un top the multiprovider)
Thanks,
Phani.

Dear Raj
By doing a multiprovider on infoset you are adding more complex lookups within the data model which could hamper the performance. On a long run this could affect the query performance.
I would recommend you to revisit your data modeling
