Personas 3 SP4 - Transport Issues

We have two clients in Dev; a 200 client, that contains no data, where initial development occurs, and a 215 client, which contains data, where most of our testing occurs.

I created my first Personas transport in 200, consisting of three flavors, a theme and three resources (two images and a JavaScript file).

I copied the transport into 215, using t-code SCC1, and everything appears to be working.

After I had copied my objects into 215, I noticed that several of the objects in both clients had dependency issues (status 2, Warning, in the Check feature). I was able to resolve those in 200 by editing the objects, making a small change, and saving them. After doing that, all of my 200 objects are returning a status 3 - Ok.

The problem is, even if I recopy my changes into 215, the dependency issues still exist. And I cannot modify these objects in 215 because the Change button is greyed out. Likewise, if I try to delete an object in 215, I get an error telling me the object was created in client 200 and I need to edit it in the original source system.

I'm thinking I need to completely remove the objects from 215 and copy them back in, but I cannot delete them directly, and I cannot find a way to modify the transport so that it removes the objects.

Can anyone provide guidance on what I need to do to solve this issue? Thank you very much for your help!

If you want to edit the flavors in client 215, you have to maintain table /PERSONAS/STTNGS to allow this. You need an entry with key ORIG_SYST_CHECK_OFF and value X in client 215 to allow editing objects originating from another system / client.

Refer to this KB article for details about the table and how it controls various Personas features.

However it is strange that after making a change in client 200 and transporting this to 215, the original problem is still present. This would mean that the change didn't get transported correctly, provided that the same change made in 215 indeed fixes the problem.

    Hi Tamas,

I have been bothered by the similar issue - we development flavors on GD and transport flavors to GQ fro testing. With time passed there are more and more "useless" flavors left on GQ. When I want to delete these flavors, it does not allow deletion as these flavors were transported. Can you advise me how to delete the flavors and images etc on a system that were transported in a Transport Request from another system? Thanks.

By the way, just to answer your question - it is not "strange" or say it is a rather common scenario that we encounter such cases, as we developed flavors, transport them to Q system for testing, then we need to do bug fixing, or adding new features etc. So sometimes the original flavors are replaced by new flavors. By such it will cumulate "useless" objects on Q system that we want to "clean up".

    Best regards,

    Dong Zhu

I have the same problem, I still don't know how to delete from DB these useless flavors and all the resources attached to them.

Whenever I try to delete from DB it says that it needs to be added into a transport but it is already in a transport. So I don't know how to send a transport to remove it completely. We don't have Personas in Production yet, I wanted to fix this issue first before we get a lot of useless junk.

Did you get to solve this?
