Hi Guys,
I have referred a no. of docs and the no. of threads in this forum as well but still not able to get a clear idea about the major difference between these two Network header & activity account assigned.
In any case, whether network header assigned or activity assigned, one has to settle the network to WBS and that even in case of services only as in case of material, the cost is booked directly against WBS only.
Is there anything else which I am missing?
With regards,

Hi,
Activity assigned networks are generally used when activities are assigned to various WBS elements. Header assigned networks should be used when networks are assigned to sales orders without WBS element. Header assigned networks can also be used when the entire network is assigned to a single WBS element.

Hi,
In Case 1 - Activity Assigned
This means that the network activity is the cost collector and they are assigned to the WBS Elements,
Network header is just a dummy object in between something like the project definition.
This case is the most common application
costs posted to network activity - flow to WBS
In Case 2 - Header Assigned
This means that the network header is the cost object and all the activities are linked to the network header and the network header is linked to wbs
Costs posted to activity - flow to network header - flow to WBS
This is used when for each WBS for some reason you need to have a separate network header
this case is also used when there is no WBS but the network and network activity are assigned to a sales order then the network header acts as a WBS - very rare usage, mostly in SD-PS integration
