No logical system group can be determined for administrative unit &1

Dear GTS gurus,

In Risk Management module when we execute the report "Analyze LTVD Request Relevance of Products" (/SAPSLL/PRE_VD_OPT_ANL_PROD) we sometimes get the error message:

No logical system group can be determined for administrative unit *******

Now I did some googling and found the following website: consolut - /SAPSLL/PRE_VDEC139 - No logical system group can be determined for administrative unit &...

It says that in customizing item "Define Administrative Unit Attributes" some assignment is missing but I was not able to figure out what exactly. I compared it with Administrative Units which did not not issue any error messages and customizing looks good to me.

Can you share your insights on this topic?

Best Regards

Greg

Hi Greg,

I agree with Mouaz's point and the issue might be with the cross Plant Preference Model-Plant group.

Please can you check that first and confirm on that.

Aman

Hello Gregor,

Under the Admin Unit attributes, you must have a Plant Group defined.

Is that Plant Group assigned to a logical system ?

(IMG: General Settings -> Organizational Structure -> Define Cross-Plant evaluation (or Define Plant-based BOM evaluation)

By the way, the site you have found is one of the many sites out there that lists the messages available in a SAP system. The same information is available within GTS (Transaction SE91).

Hi Mouaz,

Thanks for your input.

1. Yes, a Plant Group is assigned to an Admin. Unit.

2. There is no chance to map a Plant Group to a a Logical System

At least for the customizing path you mentioned. Within this menu I can map different plants to a plant group.

Or was the essence of your statement that all the plants need to be mapped to the plant group properly?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Greg

Hi Greg,

I am working on a GTS 10.0 version.

With this version, each plant of the plant group has to be assigned to a logical system.

Will share a screen shot a little bit later on.

Greg, here is the screen shot.

As you can see, the first column of the plants assignment should be filled with a logical system reference.

Hi Mouaz,

Thanks. Technically, you do assign a plant to a logical system, not the plant group to a logical system.

Thats why I was kind of confused.

Yes, we do have this mapping properly setup in our system.

Does the error occur as soon as one plant is not assigned to the specific plant group?

(Lets say 10 out of 11 plants are properly assigned but one is missing)

Best Regards

I don't think so.

Most probably you have within the Plant group a plant that is assigned to a logical system which itself is not assigned to a logical system group.

Wow this is heavy logical stuff. This took me like 3 or 4 times reading to understand

But still, that is also not case in our configuration.

Let me summarize: In our system

1. A Plant Group is assigned to the Administrative Unit

2. The Plant Group itself is definied and available in customizing path Define Cross-Plant BOM Evaluation

3. Several plants are assigned to this Plant Group and also the Logical System for each plant is maintained properly

What else am I missing?

Thanks so far to everyone!

Hello Gregor,

The missing bit to check is:

4. Is the logical system of each plant linked to a group of logical systems ?

This can be check @:

Global Trade Services -> System Communication -> Assign Logical System to a Group of Logical Systems

Hello Mouaz,

This setting is also properly maintained in our system.

Any other clues?

Hello Gregor,

Are you comfortable with debugging ?

If yes, then try to set a break point in FM /SAPSLL/PRE_VD_ORG_DATA_READ. The error message you are getting is a result of this FM call.

Alternatively, perhaps you can share the screen shots of the 4 items you checked (the ones that you mentioned in your April 24th message) in order to try to understand where is the issue laying.

Regards.
