ITS Based ESS in ERP2004

Hi, We are upgrading to ERP2004 from 45B version. Currently, we want to use only ITS Based ESS after the upgrade. I have the following queries on this -

1. Do we have to have a separate ITS sever even if WebAS 6.40 has internal ITS?

2. How IACs from current SAP systems be published after the upgrade.

3. DO we still need to download BP for 46C/470 even if we are not using EP currently?

Any information/document regarding ITS based ESS in ERP2004 will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Abhijeet.

    Hi Abhijit,

Great to see you on SDN. for your queries:

1)I hope you are using ECC 5.0 this has WEBAS 6.40, and there is one internal ITS attched which can be used to host ITS based services.

for overview and related details, please check:

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/cd/8a424089ff2571e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

    2) For migration of existing ITS services, please check

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/cd/8a424089ff2571e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

    3) you need not to download any BP if you are not using portals.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

    Sudhir

    • going by the note(758035) you have mentioned

<i>In mySAP ERP 2004, SAP ESS services based on ITS technology are only

supported on one ITS Release 6.20. <b>Running these on ITS Version 6.40

integrated in WAS 6.40 is not supported by the standard system.</b> Running

ITS-based ESS services in mySAP ERP 2004 should only be used as an

interim solution. You should convert all ESS scenarios to Web Dynpro

      (Java) in the middle-term. </i>

      you need standalone ITS.

      Hope this helps.

      Regards

      Raja

    Hi Abhijeet,

No you dont have to install separate ITS when you have WebAS 6.4. Check this link for other answers.
