I need to call a database function to fix the data in a column.

I have to correct alpha data in a column that I wish to convert a number. That column will be used as primary key in joining other tables. I wrote a function in Oracle that coverts alphas and nulls to zero so that I can convert the column from String to Number. I can't figure out how to do that in Information Design Tool in BO 4.1.

Here's what I am trying to do:

exec ODS.F_TO_NUMBER(substring(CALL.CALL_SUBTYPE2,7,10))

BO no like it..... Is there a standard way to do this in IFDT?

If you know how to do in Database, you can use the same code in the Universe object (Both in UDT and IDT), don't worry about parsing. if the piece of code runs in your Database client tool, it should run while you run the report.

BO doesnt give all possible functions, places where there is no Universe function available you can use the Database function.

    Dears,

In IDT foundation layer use insert calculated Column and use your function in the calculated column.
