BW connection to ORACLE

Dear Colleagues,

I need to connect ORACLE as a source system to BW. So I craeted the source system as DB connect --> selected DBMS = ORACLE.

Now what is syntax for entering the connection info?

I am looking in SDN forum as well. But if anybody tells me ASAP, so it would be a great and save a bit of time.

Or what are the steps we need to follow to connect DB?

Thanks & Regards

Milind

    Hi Milinda,

    Try this:

    DBMS: ORA

    USER NAME: ORACLE

    DB PASSWORD: admin password

CONN. INFO: info in the format <DBMS name>@<Server name>

    Best regards,

    Eugene

    • Yes, Milinda, you are absolutely right.

In the Edit Datasource screen you'll be able to tick those fields you want to extract ('Transfer' column).

Pay attention that tables/views with a special icon at the left are not allowed to be used as DSs.

And you also can create views to join several tables.

      Best regards,

      Eugene
