Hi,
We are working on a migration project where we need to upgrade the database to Oracle 11g from the current version.
There is a reporting componnet which uses BO X1 R2 SP1.
Can anybody please confirm if BO X1 R2 SP1 can connect to Oracle 11g.
Whenever SAP talks or says not supported it means they hv not tested d behaviour and would not support in case of any issues.
We must look into d fact that r2 has joined legacies. It would be better to stay within d supported framework dat was provided by sap as you will find SAP kba or notes present and be able to help you with resolution.
Oracle 11 as mentioned by everyone has not been supported in R2 sp1. It would be better to move to the next product release or else the highest service pack of R2 to atleast be within d supported framework.
Don't expect any on call support for R2 from SAP. 🙂

There can be unknown reasons for customer to be in R2 till now.
As far as the software working part is concerned there have been many versions of third party products which SAP would not support but has been found that SAP BO works very well.
PS: I am not suggesting that we can be in un-supported platform. Definitely not for production unless tested thoroughly and figured out for yourself any case of issues that may occur.
NO it will not support...
you can consider upgrading of SAP BO to higher version.... (SAP BI4.1 sp2)

you can try to connect to it for reporting, it will be un-supported by SAP and might not work 100%, but you can try.
As to hosting CMS DB on it - definately not.
