Hi PS gurus,
Currently want to use PS interface with MS project.
MSproject 2007, SAPECC6.0 - 720, openps version4.0, windows 7
I have created a project definition in SAP PS. While uploading the project from microsoft project to SAP PS, I am getting the following error.
ERROR in OpenPS_ParamDB: could not open database c:\Program Files\OpenPS4MSP\Data\OpenPS_ParamDB.mdb or could not create a new parameter database.
ERROR in OpenPS_TextDB: could not open database c:\Program Files\OpenPS4MSP\Data\OpenPS_TextDB1.mdb or could not create a new parameter database.
How to resolve this error.
Need experts comment.
Regards,
Ansar

Hello Ansar,
Your problem look like a Windows Issue,
Do you have admin rigths on your computer ?
Is the Open PS version compatible with your Operating system ? is it well installed ?
Are the files in your error message exists ?

Hi Tamim,
Got reply from SAP:
(a) Kindly download and install Microsoft Jet Database Engine 4.0 to correct the DAO*.dll errors. This is necessary for the functioning of OpenPS4MSP.
OpenPS4MSP will copy and install the *.mdb files in your local user settings in Windows. OpenPS_SettingsDB.mdb and OpenPS_LogonDB.mdb these files will require write access.
(b) The files OpenPS_ParamDB.mdn and OpenPS_TextDB.mdb will be stored in the OpenPS installation location. They will require read access. This is with respect to the functioning of OpenPS. However, to install OpenPS you will require write access to C:\. Kindly ask your system
administrator to perform the installation. (First you need to install Microsoft Jet Database Engine and then install openPS4MSP).
The message is often displayed because the files DAO3032.DLL and dao350.dll are missing on your system. We recommended the following steps where the same problem was occurring:
Uninstall the SAPGUI, MS Project and OpenPS completely.
- Install them in the following order -
1) MS Project
2) SAP GUI
3) OpenPS
Need to perform all these instructions given above by SAP.
Will let you know.
thanx
Regards,
Ansar
