Trigger an email when output is successfully issued VA03

Hi Experts,

I have a problem here, I have a driver program,which calls smartform and sends an email. The requirement is to trigger an email(smartform attached) and once email is successfully called I have to update a custom table with corresponding NAST paramters, this should happen only when the output is successfully issued via VA02/VA03 transaction i.e. when NAST-VSTAT = 1. But my driver program where I have written code to generate an email triggers and update the custom table is getting called only when NAST status is = 0. Please guide me to achieve this.
