SAP Work Manager and EHP7

Dear all,

We recently upgraded from EHP5 to EHP7 and as a result cannot now upload pictures from the device (iPad) as attachments on notifications. Prior to the upgrade, we could upload photographs and view them on the back-end using the DMS (tx CV02n). Since the upgrade, attachments can be viewed (pushed) to the device however attachments cannot be uploaded from the device and viewed via CV02n on the back end. If the DMS/BDS 'switch' is changed to BDS, attachments can be both uploaded and downloaded to the advice.

Has anyone experienced the same issue or able to offer any suggestions how to resolve this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jonathan,

are you receiving any errors on the mobile device, SMP/Agentry logs or SAP application logs (SLG1)?

Hi Christian and Manju,

I uploaded a picture and attached it to a notification and that was successfully pulled by the device. I then requested the SMP server logs from the tech team and found that the time zone of Ipad was not being recognised:-

I found SAP note 1813025 which discusses the error and resolution for adding the time zone alias.

Unfortunately the upgrade coincided with the clock change which made me suspect the upgrade had caused issues.

Hi Jonathan,

Did you try uploading picture or document from SAP GUI ?    Please check your SAP DMS configuration on SAP side for notification.  Upgrading to EHP7 can't  break anything specifically  on DMS settings, moreover there  are not settings on Work Manager application side to control DMS settings for uploading of pictures.  Since it works  for BDS  documents nothing has broken on Work Manager side.

Hi,

I resolved the time zone alias error but another error is being thrown from the client (ipad) and i'm struggling to see the cause :-

An attachment can be made to the notification via DMS but when a picture is attached from the device, the above error is thrown.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Did you have any luck solving the photo upload with DMS issue? We face the exact same problem.

Hi Karthik,

Our demo requirements changed and we used configuration to switch to BDS instead.

I believe from investigating the issue and looking at the SAP note that each client time zone has to be mapped to the server time zone. For example we would have to map europe/london to europe/london for our 'home' timezone and europe/norway to europe/london+1.

You have to change this in the agentry.ini file and there are two other notes attached to SAP note 1813025 which should also be applied.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your response. We were receiving your second error with date format. However we solved this today by disabling a conversion exit in application config TSTLC. DMS works for us now.

Hi Karthik,

Glad to hear you managed to get it working. I suspected it was to do with a conversion somewhere but could not pinpoint it. Which field did you trace the problem to and disable the conversion exit on?
