Hi Gurus,

In our company we are planning implement SAP WM for our warehouse.

Currently we use SAP MM for procurement and the process steps are given below.

1. Create a non stock PO with cost center as the account assignment.

2. Post GR for the non stock PO

3. Stocks are manually maintained in excels and issue to relevant cost centers later date.

Please provide me a solution on how to take this stocks in to SAP WM with out re-costing to the same cost center?

You cannot create stock in WM if you have no stock in MM, this would be an inconsistency. WM is used to manage MM stock in more details.

You would need to exchange your material type to UNBW to create stock with a receipt while the costs go to a cost center.

Hi Jurgen ,

Thanks so much for your response. Even my plan was to take the existing stock as non valuated materials where no accounting doc will create and create same materials as stock materials to create new POs. My only issue is, it is okay have two materials codes for the same material. UNBW is only going to be a temporary one

No it is not a good idea to have 2 material numbers under different material types for the same material. this will only create confusion. But you cannot have any inventory in WM if you have no inventory in MM. And if you do not want values then the only option is a UNBW material type.

You can try to change the material type from your current to UNBW via transaction MMAM, there are a lot checks that are carried out and this change is not always possible and certainly not suitable for a temporary solution.

Why temporary? If you want start with inventory management now and want the stock valuated in future but your existing stock is non-valuated because its value was posted to a costcenter, then add the old inventory with a value of a 1 cent. The moving average will adjust over time with new valuated receipts.

Hi Jurgen,

Thanks again . These materials are in stardard price not in moving average price. So now what we can do?
