Datasource only in Version 7.0 replicable

Hi BW Experts,

I´m just facing a problem after we have done a system copy PROD BW towards QUALITY BW.

Reconnectiong the only Sourcesystem worked fine and also replicating the datasources worked. But for some Datasources ist only possible to replicate the new 7.0 version.

This is bad as the transport from the sourcesystem dependend objects from PROD BW just failes for these wrong replicated datasources.

I have already tried to delete some 7.0 Datasources and replicate again. Unfortunately BW does not ask in which version I want to replicate the datasource again and just replicates in 7.0 instead of 3.x.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Best regards
Christian

You can change your data source version(3.x/7.x) by using T code - RSDS.

Menu data source.

7.x to 3.x or 3.x to 7.x

Thanks to all of you for the support. After migration the 7.x Datasource back to 3.5 it was possible to reimport the sourcesystem dependend objects without problems.

Why the Datasources got migrated while the first import I still can´t explain.

Thanks again for the help.

Best regards

Hello Christain,

The data source that you have imported from production must have been migrated with the option "export  without data source". If this option is selected then you cant got back to 3x flow

W/O Export -> Once you migrate to 7 version you can't go back to the 3.5 flow.

With Export -> The migration changes will be stored in a table and you can again migrate your flow from 7 to 3.5 flow.

This can be done in the RSDS(Menu-> Datasource options)

RSDSEXPORT is the table

Hi,

Here is a workaround (to be tested and treated with caution).

Delete the datasource using tx: RSDS.

Next delete the D version from table RSDS manually:

DATASOURCE      LOGSYS                OBJVERS OBJSTAT
==========================================================
<source>                SYSCLNT101        D                INA     <<<<<<

Then delete the entry from table RSDSSH (also manually).

Next replicate the datasource as 3.x. or transport the datasource from development BW system.

Regards,

Michael
