Order going to free flow

Hello Experts,

I have an issue wherein an order is getting confirmed from a plant where there is less stock. The order is going through the rule based atp in apo.

Order qty-100

Stock in Plant 1-80

Stock in Plant 2-80

Rule set up in apo-

Fan based structure:

Plant1--Plant2

            Plant3

Expectation is that the first 80 should be fulfilled by plant 1 and rest 20 should be given by plant 2.

On investigation I found that in the line item in the order, one of the field :ATP Quantity is 999.999.999.999.999

I believe that the system is ignoring the actual stock and going to a free flow.

So my question is where does this qty comes from. What influences this and how can I correct it.

Thanks in advance

Karan

Hello Karan,

In my view, you should take a look at your Checking Horizon settings that has been defined against your Scope of check for the corresponding ATP group and Business event. Also, in the product master, what is the no. of Checking Horizon days that you have maintained ?

I think system is trying to do a forward scheduling to an infinite time and hence you're seeing erroneous results.

Hope this helps

Hello Babu,

Thanks for the reply but here are the details of what I am using:

In check control ATPgroup+BE=consider checking horizon and consider past receipt

I am not using any days in Chking hor GR

In the product master I am not using any days as well in the CH.

In the material master, nothing has been maintain in the TRLT or GR days etc.

I have also tested by putting days in the above fields but it still give me erroneous results ie 99999....qty.

However if I use No Checking Horizon, the system behaves properly and gives me the correct results.

So I fail to understand as if I use No checking horizon then system ideally should give me infinite qty for atp and it should be other way round if I use Consider Checking horizon.

Do let me know if my understanding is incorrect.

Thanks

Karan

Hi Karan,

Check the rule which triggered by the ATP check.

Earlier we had a situation like unlimitted commit and it was because of rule parameters.

try with another rule and check whether it is still happening or not.

Thanks,

Bala.
