Hi Lakshmikantha, hi Ramakrishna,

I fear you really want to deploy a WD app on WAS 6.20?! (And not only itegrate a WD iView, running on a 6.40 box, into a 6.20 EP installation?!)

If this is the case 😔 - WD is only supported from 6.40 on.

    Hope it helps

    • Hi Kantha,

the message server is part of the "SAP Central Services" (SCS), see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/13/7264827c5fc0418606202ce69fc517/frameset.htm for details.

So it is not directly related to WD apps. It is the server to which initial communication happens when deploying J2EE applications from NWDS.

As given in NWDS, the port is 3600 + SCS instance number, so often it will be 3601.

      > how did u tried to deploy

You cannot deploy a Web Dynpro app on 6.20. Period.

On a 6.40 system, everything works "as expected", but once you would try, probably you wouldn't experience any problems... (at least, you should use the same NWDS version as Server version, e.g. NWDS 2.0.14 for WAS 6.40 SPS 14).

      Hope it helps
