Can we remove Last Name as a mandatory field in SAP C4C employee master?

Actually client is having employee details in external system but for some employees doesn't have Last names.

and need to replicate employee master data into C4C but C4C having Last name as Mandatory field to replication.

Is there any option to make Last name as non mandatory field in C4C?

In order to create a Contact, the Last Name is mandatory. The label can be changed but the property of this field cannot be changed. Which means, it is not possible to un-check the mandatory sign from the field Last Name.
