with server name not able to login BI Launchpad and CMC

Dear All,

I`m facing an issue with CMC and BI Launchpad, the issue is i`m able to login through IP but i`m able to login by using server name. It shows that Internet Explore cannot display the web page..

I can able to login by using the below URL

http://IP:8080/BOE/BI

http://IP:8080/BOE/CMC

I cannot able to login by using the below URL

http://servername:8080/BOE/BI

http://servername:8080/BOE/CMC

what is the problem, could you please advice to fix the issue.

Thanks to all the replies...i did it and it`s working now...Actually it`s not added into the DNS...

Hi Sella,

Please add the IP address and Server name entries in the HOSTS file as mentioned by Prasad.

Please let us know the findings.

Hi,

are you able to ping the server Name from CMD?  Just enter PING servername

Can you try with FQDN name of the BO server?

To know the complete name, just enter nslookup IP in the CMD promt

Note down the complete name and try to run the url now  add to the trusted site of IE also.

Note: Update your system host file with server IP and FQDN
