SAP CLUSTER ISSUE

Hi experts,

we have SAP in Redhat LINUX Cluster environment with 2 nodes.  version: EHP6 on sybase ASE.

sap is on a Virtual host. we have all the instance ERS, ASCS, Central Instance and Dailog Instance all on same Virtual

Host. on individual nodes SAP is coming up and running fine.

but when i move the resource (cluster service ) from first node to second node. my whole sap application(including database) is shuting

down. Is this a cluster related issue, or is there any parameters need to be set from SAP side.

please let me know if you require more details.

thanks & Regards,

Amar

ERS and ASCS should be running in different nodes at any point of time. if any of the node fails then only the ASCS should be running.

ERS and ASCS should be configured in cluster such that it runs in Master/Slave mode. if configured so, then ERS and ASCS services operations will be taken care automatically by the SAPinstance resource agent

when you move your resources from one node to the other all the resources will be stopped in current node and then they will be started in the other node if it an active/passive cluster

Also check if you have the SAPHOSTAGENT installed in your second node, uid, env variables are similar like in the first node

you also need the NFS mounts(/sapmnt) to be highly available
