Hello Imran,

Oracle 10 and RED HAT 6 are incompatible.

If you search in PAM, you will see this.

You shoul install al least oracle 11.2

The problem is the GlibC library of Red Hat , I  recommend to NOT update it, as it is a core library.

Hi Antonietta,

Acually we have added RAM in our server ( 48 GB). RHEL 5 show only 32 GB RAM. that' why we shift on RHEL 6.

there any way to install SAP with oracle 10g on RHEL 6 OR RHEL 5 support 48 GB RAM

Hello,

in the note

1496410 - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x: Installation and
Upgrade

you can read

Additional notes for installation with Oracle

  • At least Oracle 11.2.0.3 is required.

I try to do what you are doing ... the only way for install oracle 10 on RHEL 6  is install oracle in another server and copy the directory. This is NOT supported by SAP. I did it in lab system.

I hope to be usefull

Hi Imran,

Try to set env variable LC_ALL= en_US.UTF-8  & retry the installation again. Also confirm required rpm packages for the installation.

Thanks,

Gaurav

Hi Imran,

If you've valid linux OS license just configure YUM server for the redhat linux server, after that you just need to give yum install command to install the rpm on your box & no need to download anything.

For RHEL6 systems you need to use 11.2.0.3 as minimum.

Hi Imran,

Please check below SAP locales are installed in your system for RHEL 6

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL 6)

Available with: compat-locales-sap-common (as of Version 1.0.4-2)
compat-locales-sap (gconv module) (as of Version 1.0.4-2)

For the installation of the "compat-locales-sap" RPM packages, you require a "Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Business Applications" subscription. This is available from your distributor.

Refer SAP note 171356 - SAP software on Linux: General information

187864 - Linux: Locale Support on Linux

Hope this helps.
