Package UJD_TEST_PACKAGE taking a while

Hi experts,

In a BW process chain, the package UJD_TEST_PACKAGE is taking a while in a step (about 8 hours)

The step is transferring data from BW infocube to BPC infocube.

I have no dumps in BW. FYI the BW infocube contains about 1.5 millions data.

What can be the cause of this big loading time?

It could be because of the availability of the WORK PROCESS in your server. May be the work process have already been occupied by other activities so until those activities are over, the Package will not find a free work process to execute your task.

The details of the Work Process allocation can be overview using T-code: SM50.

interesting, thanks for your answer. I will check that point with basis team.

I just found out that the select statement in program UJD_TEST_PACKAGE contains more that 10millions records. You think that is an issue?

Yes, that might be an issue but 10 million records taking 8 Hours is more than normal expected time.

I checked Work process in SM50.

The only active process is CL_SQL_RESULT_SET======CP corresponding to program UJD_TEST_PACKAGE. All the other process are waiting.

The process CL_SQL_RESULT_SET======CP is on table /B28/FBSLSAN.

This table contains more than 9 million records.

I think that is the source of my issue.

Hi Amine,

Do you really require such a huge data set for your calculation?

You can also try using XDIM_PACKAGEBY statement to have parallel processing. Please refer to the below link from help.sap:
