Dear Gurus,

I am trying to prepare a Forecast Plan for next 6 months based on the Sales History for Past 13 weeks.  The solution which i was thinking of is to prepare a Custom Sales Forecast report in SAP with the Sales History over the 13 weeks as the basis for the calculation , spread it out in monthly buckets and then upload it to the Planned Independent requirement table (MD62.  Does anyone know how can i forecast with the APO products.

Hello Rajiv,

Demand Planning in APO is designed to do what you have mentioned - "Forecast Plan for next 6 months based on the Sales History for Past 13 week". From APO-DP, forecast can be transferred to ECC.  It comes as Planned Independent Requirement, which can be seen MD63 or MD04.

Just want to add word of caution on the quality of forecast -  Rule of thumb says, You should try to forecast no more than 30% of the data you have on hand. E.g. 1 year of History = then 3 months of forecast.  So 13 Weeks(3Months) of History is not going to be sufficient to forecast 6 Months of Demand. Please check this point as well.

Yes, we have standard SOP in ECC and DP in APO. Both of them can realize this request ... so not sure why you want to develop customizing report ...

its a standard function in APO DP..

DP works on this logic only
