Hi Experts,
we are planning to have one cluster environment in Red hat Linux 6.5.
1) Two nodes in cluster ( two red hat Linux 6.5 servers)
2) 1 server with Websphere as a web application server.
From the last two years i am completely working on windows environment. hence i would like to know few details about installing BI 4.1 in RHL 6.5.
it completely talks about tomcat+ Apache.
is it possible to perform the websphere + Apache split deployment.
Kindly share your expertise.
Hi Prasad,
Below are my thoughts on your queries.
1. Check . This is an amazing blog by Brian. Hope you find it useful.
2. You cannot do a split deployment with Apache and Websphere. However you can do it with IHS (Web server provided by IBM) plus websphere. If you are using Websphere Network deployment version, IHS must be installed by default. For performing the split deployment, check https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000171102014E/sbo41sp3_bip_wapd_unix_en.pdf See section 4.4.2 on page 27
Hope it helps.
Regards
Chinmaya

Hi,
you mentioned already the pre- requisits and they really should be fullfilled.
The only "issue" i had was often that the languages "en.US-UTF8" wasnt set for the User under which you want to install BI.
Check that the user has assigned this Language in its profile and you should be fine.

When I tried to install BI 4.1 SP4 on RHL 6.5, I encountered an error (missing patch: libXext-devel-1.1-3.e16.i686). According to the PAM, RHEL 6.2 is the latest version supported. The referenced patch in RHL 6.5 is newer than the on the install program was expecting.
So Prasad, were you able to install on RHL 6.5?
