Condition for X consecutive months

Hi All,

I have to create a condition where the user would enter the month range between which I have to check and see whether the sales are greater than a particular value. Now this condition is not for the total of the sales, but for individual months. I cannot create restricted KFs because I don't have a way of restricting the range of months that the user might enter. Is there a way that this can be accomplished?

Thanks,

Ashmith Roy

    Hi,

does it help if you create a restricted key figure based on a variable?

If not, please explain you problem a little bit more in detail.

    Regards

    Stephan

      Stephan,

I need to see data for each month for X consecutive months. Now I do not know how many Restricted KFs I need beacuse the user might enter 3 months, 4 months or 6 months. But because there is a condition on the column (I need to see all the customers/vendors whose sales are greater than a certain amount), I have no way of knwing how many restricted KFs I need to create.

      Thanks

Still do not know if I unterstood your issue completely...

Can you put the InfoObject for month (together with the variable) and your key figure the condition is based on into the column definition of your query? Then you should receive one coulumn per month, and the condition is evaluated per column (=month).

    Does that help?

      Stephan,

I tried doing that (restrict all KFs in columns with 0calmonth). But the condition only applies to those months where the sales are greater than the user entry value and not for other months. But the requirement is that I need to see if sales are greater than the user entry value for consecutive months and not months that are spread over value ranges.

      Thanks,

    Hi Ashmith,

Didn’t get one detail: either a condition should apply to the total sales for a month range or to each month in the range.

Anyway, there are solution for both cases.

    1. Create a structure in columns. New selection, choose your KF and 0CALMONTH. Restrict 0CALMONTH by a user entry range variable. Conditions will be checked against the total sales for a month range.

    2. Put into columns your sales KF (it goes to a structure). Put there 0CALMONTH. It’ll go above or below the structure. Restrict it by a user entry range variable. During execution will be shown all records for which AT LEAST ONE MONTH sales amount conforms the condition. Records for which all month sales do not conform will not be shown.

    Best regards,

    Eugene
