Configuring "Alert Configuration" in XI 3.0

Hi,

I am just following the guide "XI Alerts - Step by step.doc" which you can find here in SDN.

My problem is that I dont see any Alert Categories in the Alert Inbox (inside RWB) to which I can subscribe. I do have the role that I had associated in TA ALRTCATDEF.

All other areas in the guide are strictly followed and they work just fine.

Any suggestions?!

Thank you!

regards

Nesimi

it seems that you have to put in the role under "Subscription Auth" in TA ALRTCATDER. What I did first was to put the role in under "Recipients Via User Roles".

But I do have one additional question:

In the Step By Step Guide there is the entry to put in the folling in the "Long and Short Text" of your alert Category.

error: &SXMS_ERROR_CODE& category (&SXMS_ERROR_CAT& ) was found in a message &SXMS_MSG_GUID& from the interface &SXMS_FROM_SERVICE&

I always get this error when I do a syntax check:

Container element 'SXMS_ERROR_CAT' does not exist

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Nesimi,

Have you defined all the container variables which you are using including the variable &SXMS_ERROR_CAT&.

Also you can use 'Insert Expression' icon to insert a defined container variable instead of manually typing it.

exactly that was missing..

docu:

On the Short and Long Text tab page, enter texts for the alert category. You can include text variables referring to elements of the alert container or system symbols. In the case of a container element, the variable must be defined in the alert container. The entry in the text must be in the form &<ElementName>&.

Thank you
