Exporting Master and Detail report in Crystal Report

Former Member

Dear all,

I have a master crystal report that contain hyper links which open a detailed report in a new tab when clicked. When I try to export the report in PDF form from master report without clicking on hyper links, it exports the master report just fine. But if I have clicked the hyper links(and the details report has been opened in a new tab) and then try to export the master report to pdf, it exports detailed report instead of exporting master report.

I have even tried exporting master report after closing the detailed report tab to no avail.Exporting detailed report works fine in every case.

I am using crystal report for visual studio 2010. Version 13.0.2 on local machine and 13.0.8 on deployment server. It behaves same way in both cases.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I have also posted the question here.

Thanks

Does your detail report contain subreports?  If not, you would be better off making it an on-demand subreport inside your main report instead of hyperlinking to it.  I don't know for sure whether that will solve your problem, but I believe it will help.

Thanks for the reply. None of the reports contain subreports. Well it was client's requirement to make it a hyperlinked report.  Hence, it can't be changed to on-demand subreport inside master report.

Is there any other way to resolve the issue ?

Many thanks.

I don't know for sure whether this will fix the issue, but I would upgrade from SP2 (dev machine) and SP8 (server) to SP9 on both to see whether that will resolve the issue.  In any case, having different versions installed for development and deployment is not really supported.

Can you attach the report here - with saved data?

I tired to upgrade development machine to SP4. The deployment machine contains SP9. The problem still persists.
