PI Email Alert Configuration - Multiple Alert in Adapter Engine

Former Member

Hi,

My SAP PI alert emails are now working. However, when I get an error in the Adapter Engine (RWB),MULTIPLE OF EMAIL ALERTS are being sent. When an error occurs in Integration Engine, only 1 email alert is sent.

For the Adapter Engine Alert Rule, i have checked the 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule' and i didn't receive any emails, but when I unchecked it, i receive multiple emails.

im using PI7.1 SP08. is there an effect because my SP is not updated?

thank you.

Hi

If you check 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule' then also you should receive at-least one email.

Normally in production environment we check that option because it avoids creating duplicate alerts fro the same type of error in same time frame.

Check 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule' and make sure that all the emails are confirmed in the alert inbox. Just go to alert inbox and read the alert message.

Once you do that you will receive alert for the new message failure in AE.

HI Indrajit,

thanks for the response.

i have checked the 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule' but i am not receiving an alert message. The error occurred in the RWB Adapter Engine. However, if i uncheck the 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule', i am receiving multiple alert messages.

Is there an additional configuration?

thank you.

check if you have configured job like RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES, which restarts failed messages.

It could be that after restarting message, it gets in to error and alert is generated.

Check alert config setting. Also check report RSALERTDISP to trace alerts generated or not.

Hi

Please read all the mails in alert inbox. After doing that you are going to receive the new alerts.

This is because you have choose the option 'Suppress Multiple Alerts'.

Creating, Changing, and Deleting Alert Rules - Process Integration Monitoring - SAP Library

If the Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule checkbox is selected (default setting), then no further alerts are generated once the rule has been met until the first alert has been confirmed.

Hi Indrajit,

So does that mean that I will only receive an alert mail regarding an Adapter Engine error once the previous alerts have been open/read?

thank you.

I have read all my messages in the Alert Inbox. then i tried to transact the interface and the error occurred in Adapter Engine.

'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule' is checked but still no messages.

If i will uncheck the 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule', is there a way to limit the number of messages being sent? or can i set the time or minutes before it sends another email?

thank you.

Hi,

Before you uncheck please make sure you complete all the alerts created.

else user report RSALERTPROC  to confirm all the alerts.

then you uncheck and see what happens.

Muni.

Hi Muniyappan,

We are also facing same above raised issue, even we have completed the alert emails which we have found in ALERT INBOX also we are unable to get the subsequent messages after choosing "Suppress Multiple Alerts of this rule".

There is any possibility to raise the alerts , If only holds the message id's

1. if you never got the alert but able to see it alert inbox please check in tcode SOST. it can tell you if there is any issue in connection.

2. Did you use report to confirm RSALERTPROC?  else you can try deleting all alerts and test it again.
