WEB AS and WEB Console

Hello All , We are implementing RF devices in our warehouse and want to use SAP's WebConsole . We are currently running SAP 46C . Can we run WebConsole without WEB AS ? If WEBAS 6.4 compatible with 4.6 ? Is

SAP WEB AS 6.2 still available ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Yes, you can run SAP Webconsole without a WebAS. Why? Because the SAPconsole/Webconsole is part of the SAPgui. Currently my company is running SAPconsole/Webconsole from the 6.40 version of SAPgui which is actually talking to a 46c R/3 system.

Yes I agree with Rich but isn`t it necessary to install the SAP J2EE Engine to keep the scenario working?

No, absolutly not. I did nothing with j2ee when I install with SAPconsole/Webconsole. Also, I helped someone in the ABAP forum a couple weeks ago with this, and I told him to skip that part in the instructions, he got it working.

I have mine setup to run with IIS.
