restrict the hierarchy levels in Query ?

Hello BW Experts,

I have a cost center hierarhcy and i have to restrict only to show 2 levels in the drilldown. and this is specific to this query. Could you please suggest how to achieve this functionality in Bex

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi BWer,

In Query Designer in that select <b>Cost Center Hierarchy</b> right click in that select Properties (ALT+ ENTER)in that Display Hierarchy and select Hierarchy.. Under that <b>Hierarchy Properties</b> in that You can select Expand Level in that give me User Settings(Arrow Check It) and Value like 2 level/3/4 etc what ever level you need as per your requirement and save and execute it.

Is there anyway to rstrict the hierarchy level at the query design stage. With the below method one can restrict the default but can't prevent the user from further drilling down when he manipulates the query output.

Did you get a solution for your question - restricting the display of hierarchy levels in the report output permanently (not a default display restriction)?

You need to use authorization for the hierarchy.

hi,

Open your query and goto change , then select costcenter , right clcik .On the context menu choose properties , you will see on the rigth hand side at lower part , you see hierarchy properties .Under that choose 'Expand to level' check box and give value as 2. this will show only 2 level when the query is executed as default setting.

Hi,

In the properties of the characterstic 0costcenter ,in Bew query designer, after selecting the hierarchy , you can set the default level of display.
