Variant Configuration in SAP CRM with Lord API

Hello,

we are using the Lord API for the creation of quotations in our CRM system. So we can create quotations in CRM but they are saved in ECC.

Now we want to activate the variant configuration for our scenario with SCE/XCM. The SCE is working for configurable materials but it does not show variants for the configured products. We have created knowledge bases and runtime versions for the products.

In the XCM Settings the variant configuration is active

In WebUI the configuration looks like this:

For this combination of characteristics a variant is available. This is shown in ERP but not in CRM.

I have read that we have to define item categories for the products that could have variants. But that would not suit to our Lord concept, because the customizing of item categories and transaction types is only done in ERP.

There we have two item categories that could use variants:

Has anyone an idea how we can make the variants also active in CRM?

we have similar requirement can you please share your experience on it please.

I have configured the ECC Quote in CRM from Opportunity and was able to create but for configured materials i am unable to select configuration in sap crm UI. it would be great if you can share the steps you followed to display VC in sap CRM UI.

Hi Anne,

Hope you have done the following settings -

• The product is marked as configurable in the product master data.
• Product configuration is activated. You activate product configuration in Customizing under Customer Relationship Management Master Data Products Settings for Configurable Products Allow Configurable Products for a Product Type . For more information about activating product configuration, see SAP Note 854170.
• You have created a product model (SAP CRM), or replicated a knowledge base with the configuration master data from SAP ERP to SAP CRM
