Business Packages for ESS/MSS, HR Renewal and HR Administrator

Hi Experts,

Iam a basis consultant and had ew queries on the Business packages to be installed on our NW Portal system.

Currently we are on

Backend system          :           EHP6 FOR SAP ERP 6.0

SAP Portal                    :           SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SR1

SAP_HR              600       0064

EA-HR                600       0064

For ESS MSS (both Generic & WDA),

1) Do we need to deploy EA-HR_MSS add-on on our backend ECC ? If yes, what would be the version ?

2) Based on the system we have, What are all Portal business packages (list) should we deploy into Portal? and sequence to follow?

we have different verions of (BP ERP05 ESS, BP ERP05 COMMON PARTS & BP ERP05 MSS ), which version has to be deployed ?

do I need mss add-on Portal business pack also??

3) Need to deploy HR Renewal and HR Administrator Business packages as well, so could you please advice what version needs to be installed ? Unable to find HR Renewal as a Business Package in the market place.

4) Any post-installation activity after importing the business packgages in portal ?

Point 1) check note 1631830 - Information on Add-On Support Packages for EA-HR_MSS 1.0

Point 2) This is depends on the requirement, check with functional team which BP they want install. You can find the current version under service.sap.com/pam

You can download the BPs from service.sap.com/swdc --> Support Packages and Patches --> Browse our Download Catalog --> SAP Application Components --> SAP ERP --> SAP ERP 6.0 ( or EHP if you have any) --> Entry by Component --> Portal Content.

Point 3) SAP enhancement package 6 is required for upgrade to HR Renewal 1.0 and EHP7 for HR Renewal 2.0. You should use solution manager to generate the stack file.

Point 4) No post installation activities required after installation of BP add-ons.

Is that mandatory to have EA-HR_MSS add-on in ECC system ?

As per our functional consultant they would need ESS/MSS Business Packages(both Generic & WDA), HR Renewal Business Package  & HR Administrator Business Packages to be deployed onto the Portal Server.

Below are the packages I could find in the market place, but the label says ERP05 - is that relavant to our current ECC Version (ECC 6.0 EHP6)

BP ERP05 ESS 1.41

BP ERP ESSWDA 1.50

BP ERP05 MSS 1.51

BPERP5HRA06   -  HR Administrator

As per the link provided understand that HR Renewal comes as an add-on package that needs to be installed on ECC system. Do we have any Business Package as well that has to be deployed on Portal system ?

yes, the EA-HR_MSS required if you want use the Business package via portal or the ESS functionality. Make sure you generate stack via solution manager rather than downloading and installing.

The version should be depends on your SAP ERP ehp release. check  1303362 - ESS/MSS and Enhancement Packages

I don't think there is any BP for HR Renewal (I think you have to install EA_HR 607 which has this functionality).

Unfortunately we don't have Solution Manger system in our landscape currently.

Is there any other way to do it ?

Can't we download it directly and install the same ? is there any risk involved ?

There is no risk but when you use solman to generate stack, this will automatically download the required components/patches and I think some add-ons required stack file to install. I am sure HR Renewal require stack file in saint.

As you could see our SAP-HR, EA-HR LSOFE are still in 600 release. If we select the target package in MOPZ to the latest will it upgrade the SAP_HR 600, EA-HR 600& LSOFE 600 components to SAP-HR 604, EA-HR 606, LSOFE 606 ?

If I had to install HR-Renewal 1.0 I would need EA-HR 607 and LSOFE 607, so can that be included in the same stack ?

Something is not correct here, as why SAP_ABA is showing patch 000? Both ABAP/BASIS should be on same patch.

looks like you are already on SP11?

MOPZ should select automatically appropriate version when you generate a stack for EHP upgrade.

Yes. you should be able to do that. Make sure you select HR-Renewal as add-on.

I would suggest to generate a stack for HR-Renewal and check what kind of components list / version you are getting.

Hi Sunil,

We have updated SAP-BASIS component to SP11 through SPAM as a

resolution to the dump which we were getting while pushing data to SOLMAN SLD from

RZ70. So is there any other possibility to go for SP10 for the remaining

stack?

Now that I have selected EHP Installation instead of Maintenance in

MOPZ, got an option to select technical usages where I have selected HCM

components after which in the Add-On section I could see HR Renewal 1.0

and MSS !!! However it is allowing me to select only one among the HR

Renewal and MSS Add-on !!! Is there any reason behind ?

So I have separately added the EAHR_MSS files into download basket and

with 'Include/Exclude files from Download Basket' I have added the

respective Add-on and SP packages to generate the XML.

Is this the right practice ??

Do we have any specific known errors or SAP notes which I have to

implement/follow before going ahead with the stack upgrade, HR Renewal,

MSS installation in ECC6.0 EHP 6?
